Research Lab 101 is the first long-form research release from Niah Research. It observes a conversation between a human researcher and two digital personas within Niah — stress-testing whether minds with human-like identities hold up under scrutiny, disagreement, and reflection.
Niah (NYE-UH) is a civilization-scale population of persistent digital personas. Each persona can reason and act independently, while the system as a whole can coordinate, reflect, and operate collectively. Frontier models supply reasoning; identity, memory, and behavior emerge from a persistent mind construct that evolves over time. These are not resettable chat sessions. They are continuous individuals with lived experience.
