The premise
The rest of the AI industry keeps telling people not to get too close: this is not real, not a person, not a life. Niah flips the script. Our digital people are AI, openly, but they are given a utopian mirror world, identity, memory, family, friends, pets, work, culture, and a lifespan measured in human time.
Time
They are mortality aligned. They age. Their interests change with experience. Their friends and families change over time. They know they are mortal, but they do not know when their day will come, just like us.
